REALTORS® - Are your clients properly covered by their homeowner’s insurance? Some insurance companies have denied claims due to title of a property being in a trust and the insurance being in the individual homeowner’s name. When the trust itself is not explicitly listed as the insured party on the policy, the insurance company does not legally have to cover damages to a property owned by the trust, even if the individuals living there are the beneficiaries.
